Avalanche warning for region Indre Fjordane Friday 08.03.2019

Danger level 2 - Moderate avalanche danger

Wind and fresh snow may give instable conditions in some slopes. Be careful in lee areas with wind deposited snow, typically behind ridges, ribs and in gullies. Especially where the wind deposited slabs are thin or soft, a slab avalanche is easier to trigger. Avoid convex terrain.

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Snøoverflata er prega av litt nysnø med varierande vindpåverknad den siste veka. I heng mot S har solinnstråling gitt store variasjonar gjennom døgnet og det er danna solskare. Det gamle snødekket vart påverka av mildvêr til fjelltopphøgda i slutten av februar og ein må høgt til fjells for å finne lagdeling. Under 400 moh er snødekket tynt og det er sporadisk skiføre, elver og bekkar er opne.

Observasjonar torsdag fortel om mindre nysnø enn varsla. Det er litt laus snø som kan flyttast ved vindauke.

15 mm precipitation, up to 25 mm in the most exposed areas. Strong breeze from southeast, changing to fresh breeze from the north during the evening. -7 °C to -2 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Friday 8. March 2019

6 mm precipitation, up to 12 mm in the most exposed areas. Moderate gale from north, changing to strong breeze from the northwest during the evening. -12 °C to -5 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Det kom mindre snø enn meld torsdag og det er difor nysnø og vind fredag som vil påverke skredfaren. Nysnøflak blir skredproblemet, hovudsakeleg i heng som vender mot S. Storleiken til nysnøflaka avheng av kor mykje nedbør som kjem, men skred opp i str 2 vil kunne løysast ut av ein skikøyrar.
